HWA: A Mobile App for Booking and Running Wellness Sessions on the Go
How Syndell built the HWA mobile app, giving clients a faster way to book sessions and practitioners a way to keep their availability and packages current between appointments.
Holistic Wellcare Advisers (HWA) is a wellness marketplace connecting clients with verified holistic practitioners across yoga, nutrition therapy, hypnotherapy, life coaching, naturopathy, and chiropractic care. The HWA mobile app extends that marketplace to the phone, where practitioners and clients already manage the rest of their day.
The Challenge
Wellness work rarely happens at a desk. Practitioners move between clients and locations, and clients decide and book in short moments, so a platform that only worked well on a larger screen left real gaps. A few specific problems needed solving:
Practitioners needed to check and update availability across at-home, virtual, and in-person sessions between appointments, not only when they were back at a computer
Clients needed to browse packages and book a session in a few taps, without switching to a desktop to finish
Package purchases, session history, and payment status needed to stay readable on a small screen instead of being squeezed in from a larger layout
A booking made on a phone could never conflict with one made anywhere else on the HWA platform
Our Approach
01
Design for the Phone First, Not as a Shrunk-Down Desktop
Screens were planned around what practitioners and clients actually do on a phone, quick checks and quick bookings, rather than carrying over every desktop view.
02
Keep One Source of Truth Across Platforms
Availability, packages, and bookings were treated as shared data with the existing HWA platform, so a change in one place shows up everywhere instead of drifting apart.
03
Prioritize the Moments Between Sessions
The tasks a practitioner reaches for most between appointments, seeing what is next and adjusting availability, were treated as primary, with less frequent tasks kept one step deeper.
04
Make Session Type Obvious at a Glance
At-home, virtual, and in-person sessions behave differently, so the type is surfaced clearly wherever a session appears, since a small screen leaves little room for ambiguity.

Practitioners and clients rarely work from a desk, so a platform built around larger screens slowed them down. The mobile app lets clients book sessions and practitioners manage availability from wherever they are.
The mobile app is built around quick, on-the-go tasks like booking a session, checking what is next, and following up on packages. It connects to the same HWA platform, while the web case study covers the full platform, including admin tools.

HONOR
Dating & Social / Mobile App
HONOR does the hard part well – building trust, inclusiveness, and real human connection for Dallas daters tired of competitive dating apps. The product wasn’t carrying its weight yet: users had little assurance about profile authenticity, and the founder’s inclusive philosophy needed to be built into the experience itself.

Enlace Ganadero does the hard part well – connecting livestock buyers and sellers across the Americas for deals worth as much as a house. The starting prototype wasn’t carrying its weight: buyers had only a handful of photos, no way to compare listings, and no real trust signals before committing.

Zoundslike does the hard part well – AI-powered, game-based English practice paired with live peer-to-peer speaking sessions. The platform wasn’t carrying its weight: core flows were incomplete and unstable, no mobile app existed yet, and unresolved audio issues undermined the entire speaking-practice experience on iOS.
Textile and Garment / Stock and Supply Chain Management
Shree Mahadev Textile App serves the textile and garment industry, where demand shifts by season and supply chains span many parties. Stock accuracy, personalized shopping, and payment security all needed to live in one mobile app.

Go Green is a UK hub helping the live music industry cut its carbon footprint. Organizers, artists, and fans lacked simple tools to measure their impact, find eco-friendly suppliers and venues, and offset emissions, so the mobile app puts all of that in one place.
