The Challenge
Esports tournaments move quickly, and the people following them are rarely at a desk. A fantasy format only works on a phone if the data behind it is accurate in real time and the experience stays simple. A few specific problems needed solving:
Tournament and player data needed to arrive live and stay accurate, since every score depends on how players actually perform in each match
Esports rosters can change mid-event in ways traditional fantasy models do not handle, so availability needed to be reflected as it happened
Drafting a roster had to feel quick and clear on a small screen, without a wall of stats to scroll through
Points needed to update in a way fans could follow as matches unfolded, so scoring never felt like a black box
